    Knee, Hamstring And Thigh Exercises

Chiropractics treat patients with mechanical disorders, this can be disorders of the spine and neck, but also all other joints as well as muscles. Sportsmen consult with chiros for treatment when they have been injured during a match or game.

Injuries to the knees, thighs, and hamstring muscles are plentiful. All players and athletes run and stop, turn and twist, and that can cause injuries. The impact of a ball on a joint, muscle or other part of the body injures, breaks, or dislocates that part of the body.

When an injury has occurred to a hamstring, thigh or knee, the sportsman will go into a period of rehabilitation and exercise in an effort to restore the joint or muscle to its former mobility and flexibility.

Exercises take many forms and you will do different sets of exercises during the different stages of the healing process. The early stages of rehabilitation include a sit to stand exercise, isometric quads and hamstring exercises, a heel slide exercise and assisted knee flexion exercises.

During the mid stage, you will perform exercises such as a straight leg ball pickup, a standing hamstring curl, wall and normal squats as well as squatting with a knee band, and a terminal knee extension exercise.

The third and last stage of healing for knee, thigh and hamstring injuries include exercises such as heel drops, a variety of lunges i.e. lateral lunge, lunge with a ball, and lunge on a step and eccentric squats.

The purpose of these and other exercises is to get you up and going and onto the field as quickly as possible. Sportsmen who do not stop and rest and do these rehabilitation exercises can scar and injure themselves for life.

Chiropractor in Centurion who treat sportsmen treat the whole person and not only the injury. They take a holistic approach towards the healing of their patients and they chat to them about their lifestyles, diet, and habits. Bad habits can weaken and shorten muscles and that makes them more prone to injury.
