Chiro is short for chiropractic and it is a form of alternative medicine. It does not use any drugs or surgery to treat patients. Instead, they believe that the spinal cord is where all ailments of the body originate and thus this is where treatment should be focused on. They use manipulation of the spinal cord in order to correctly realign the spinal cord and thus, heal the patient. There has not been any scientific proof that this works, however, there are a number of people in the world that can testify to having been healed by chiropractors.
Chiropractors do not use any drugs or surgery to treat patients and thus, their methods do not directly interfere with the body’s inner organs. It is a great method of treatment for those that do not want to take medication or have surgery. It has also been proven to have longer lasting effects when treating people with chronic back pain.
There are also chiropractors that specialise in babies. When some babies are born, they may suffer from slight spinal injury during the birthing process. The damage may not be clearly obvious and visible and so they baby will be very restless due to being in pain. Baby chiropractors are trained to especially deal with babies and gently manipulate their spines into place.
This evidence of effective treatment has led to chiropractic being more widely accepted by the main stream medical community. It has even led to medical doctors referring their patients to a chiropractor for certain ailments such as back pains or neck pains. This alternative form of treatment has become very popular in America, Canada and Australia.
Chiro is also now being used in combination with other forms of treatment. Exercises such as yoga as well as taking some medication can be used together with chiropractic. Also treatment such as ice therapy and massages has proven to be effective when used with chiropractic. Despite years of being a controversial form or treatment, chiropractic has proven to help many people live a more productive and active life due to the effective forms of treatment.
