    How to avoid Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation is a very typically and frequently used type of chiropractic treatment. Many chiropractic patients often need this type of treatment as it fixes not only posture issues and joint issues, but it can even have a positive effect on various muscles throughout the body. The spine is a very powerful and crucial part of the body that needs to be cared for. Spinal manipulation (also known as manipulation treatment and chiropractic manipulation) is a way of fixing this vital element to ensure it performs to the best of its ability.

Spinal manipulation is based on the manual manoeuvring or the sudden (but controlled, of course) movement of a joint that cannot move as freely as it should. The manipulation includes the use of great force, but this force is just enough to het the joint moving and cannot do any additional harm. Many people are afraid during the process as the joints always make “snapping” sounds that are similar to the sounds bones make when they grind or the sound muscles make when they tear. However, this is not the case at all and people should welcome the sound as it means the joint is being treated and manipulated successfully. The sound is actually made due to small gas bubbles in vacuums in the joints. These bubbles are present in synovial fluid.

Spinal manipulation by a chiropractor is done either by hand or with the help of specialised devices that are designed to help a chiropractor perform this task. The whole process is designed to increase the efficiency of joints and muscles by increasing the range of motion. Manipulation allows affected body tissue to heal. Spinal manipulation will often be recommended to anyone who has suffered with pain for a long time, have tried to treat it themselves and have failed to do so. This is because most people think the area in pain is the only infected area, when in actual fact it could be the spine. Manipulation of the spine can help relieve pain for up to 18 months after the treatment if the problem cannot be completely cured by it.
